Humans believe that The Shadow's Children, (also known as Silhouettes), are made of pure evil; all thanks to the very few rebellious kinds of their race that decided to try and destroy the world instead of protecting it. They were given the name Maleficent, meaning evil. Now Humans see all of them as a threat, causing them to hide back in the shadows to do their job instead of out in the daylight where everyone can see them as the saviours that they are.
One day the Maleficient show up at a Silhouette's camp, and almost completley destroys a family of seven. But this family is strong, and will never go down without a fight, even when all hope seems lost. Lunar, Alec, Leo, Delilah, Chase, Vicki. Will they survive in a race that's slowly falling apart?

Fade had been a young girl when all this came about, her father had taken her and fled. Teaching her everything she would need to know, he did what any good father would have done. Protect. The last thing that Juliana Jackson remembered of that night, was glass shatterin' around her. From the windshield of the SUV, to the windows on every side of her... it didn't matter. And there was this really nice vampire family that was hard to hate. And a wolf family that really wanted Olivia to stay out of it all. NOT EDITED VERSION. Delilah got a huge responsibility on her shoulders at the age of 17 when her parents died. The responsibility: her seven year old sister, Alice. They don't know exactly how their parents died. All they knew was that their car exploded, but their bodies were never found, even after the fire was put out. Delilah thought that her life was simple -well as simple as it gets with a seven year old in your life- but what she didn't know was that people were looking for her. For both her and her sister. The mark that they bore behind their neck symbolized something bigger than what they thought was a simple birth mark. It symbolized mate. But more importantly, it meant that they could bare a child with no fertility problems. On the vampire world, fertility is a big problem. It's been thousands of years since a female has birthed a child that has been capable of passing down the vampire gene without being bitten or cursed (the worst and most painful possible way ever) or both mother and infant dying. So finding a female with the mark is like finding your own personal treasure. Kai and Gabriel had gone into the military undercover as recruits, only to have the government they all thought they were working for put them in situations to deliberately attempt to kill them . While her brothers are under fire, Jasmine is in university finishing her degree in forensic psychiatry, and while studying, finds a husband as well. Lilianna has gone off on her own; Micah, an eight year old autistic savant, is learning to cope with his social anxiety while Serena just wants to find a horse to ride. In the meantime, a hidden figure sets loose a savage virus that has a 100% kill rate, it has gone global, and the Oberllyn's need to kill it before it kills them and everyone else.
