Cali is living on her own at the early age of 16 and moved to Philadelphia, where she's taking her college, four years ago.
Now, in her 20s, she finally seeks something that was lack her ever since she was a child. A solid and caring family. Though she seems to be a loner, she easily copes with her surroundings and even finds a good place everywhere she goes. She was described by her friends as strong and independent, but she believes otherwise because, without them, she was nothing.
In search of productive activity for her summer break, she stumbled upon a family looking for a babysitter. She took it and easily warmed up to them, finally finding something she can call family. That summer, she met an arrogant man who almost ran her over while on her bike. She gave him her lashing sentiment and swore long acrimony towards him.
Chase is no different among men overwhelmed with his confidence, manly beauty and his money. Not until he meets Cali, whom he almost hit upon crossing the street. He was immediately enthralled and accepted the challenge of making her fall for him.
Cali wants nothing to do with Chase, but he wants her to be part of his life. In their chasing fire game, a kindle of romance started to root in Cali seeing how serious and persistent Chase is in his word. But hideous news will tear them apart.

What terrifies her most is when everything seems to be linked to her, insidiously eating her sanity as she becomes a target of obsession.
