Holden sat there stroking my hand with his thumb. 
"Look at me." He whispered. "Frankie look at me." I turned towards him. His eyes looked broken but determined. "We're going to get though this Frankie. I promise." His eyes filled up with tears. "I promise."
I nodded weakly.

Frankie and Holden were always best friends and nothing could ever tear them apart. But when the unimaginable happens, Frankie is faced with the possibility that things can never go back to normal and suddenly her future seems bleak. But while Frankie faces her own grief, Holden is left falling apart while still trying to stay strong for Frankie.

We admire our work with quiet smiles. I do a small chuckle and finally let all these sad moments become into memories that are worth remembering. Even if it means that those I loved so much might fade away; they will never be forgotten. I promise myself to do this... "Promise me that we will always remember and never forget," Nate quietly says. "What if we do?" I whisper. "What if we let the night become darker than the stars?" Nate turns, and takes small steps towards me. My heart is like a magnet bringing him closer as I turn towards him. He does that look I fell in love with the day we met. He's inches apart now and I'm left breathless. His whisper is as quiet as the moonlight shining through the windows of the class as he says, "Then I will find you to remind you of us. I'll remind you that stars shine brighter in the darkest nights..."
