The government set up the 'Expiration' policy in 2020 as an experiment to find out if it would improve the high population and increasing levels of unemployment and poor housing. It means that when people are born they are given a timer, this is when you will die and during this time you must fulfil certain tasks. If you rebel you will be killed. This short story follows the Protagonist Aiden Miller through the form of a diary throughout his struggles in this new society. After his parents are murdered and Aiden becomes the property of the State he decides to document his experiences as a way of escape, whilst hoping for an actual escape. A dystopian short story which tackles the issues or humanity, control, freedom, power of the state and more.

But all of Emmy's plans come to a screeching halt when the FBI shows up at her door to let her know that she's being stalked by a serial killer. Suddenly, the safe, insulated world she created for herself is riddled with violence, fear...and a growing pile of dead bodies. At first Emmy wants nothing more than to forget her chilling new reality - but her admirer isn't finished with her yet, and before she knows it, Emmy's stuck in a nightmare she can't dance her way out of.
