For a time, the forces of Heaven and Hell left Aziraphale and Crowley alone. But with new plans in the works, the forces of good and evil want to make sure the meddling pair stay out of the way. They are still afraid of the newfound powers the pair seemed to possess, as demonstrated at their trials. So instead of coming at them directly, Gabriel and Beezlebub marry celestial and infernal curses to make Crowley and Aziraphale think they're human. But their plan, as usual, is imperfect. Crowley's enchantment fails almost immediately, but Aziraphale is still under the delusion that he is quite human indeed. Crowley needs to try and undo the curse without drawing the attention of celestial forces who might correct their enchantment and try a second time.

This should have been the best moment of Crowley's fucked up millennia lasting life. This should have been a moment of revelation, the moment he'd been waiting for, the moment his dreams finally came true. We just tend to forget that nightmares are dreams, too. ~oOo~oOo~ Summaries are hard without giving away too much plot. Tbh this isnt that good yall should go read my good omens one shots those are better "They'll leave us alone... for a bit." That's what Crowley had told Aziraphale, and Aziraphale had trusted him. How could he not? The angel and demon pairing had been best friends for over 6,000 years and Crowley's voice was just so convincing. But oh boy, was he wrong. Mere weeks after the failed Armageddon, Heaven and Hell grew restless. They felt cheated out of a much needed war- a war that the angels should have won. After many days of arguing, Heaven and Hell shockingly came to an agreement- they would host a series of challenges, games if you will, to prove which side was better. When both Crowley and Aziraphale refuse to participate, Heaven and Hell punish them with something so awful that the boys wish they had just stayed on their respective sides and followed the Plan. Will this punishment bring the demon and the angel closer, or will it tear them apart for good? Story length: 12,193 Words

Crowley and Aziraphale are tied together, not quite literally but pretty close. In this universe soulmates are "tied" together by means of feeling certain things they feel. The main one is pain, so they can always feel when something is wrong with them. The problem is, they spend 6000 years trying to pretend that they're not each other's soulmate.
