Hi! I got this idea from a One-Shot book by @A_Insanly_Shy_Neko ! It was a roleplay they did and I took the idea and ran with it! I'm using it as a prompt!
Disclaimers:
1) @A_Insanly_Shy_Neko if you want me to take this down I will. I just had two chapters done and I couldn't wait to get this started!
2) I do not know where the art from the cover came from. I found it on Google Images and if someone can tell me who the artist is I will immediately credit them because I know it can suck to have your work used without any credit.
3) There are triggers in this. I don't want to name them because I don't want to spoil this entirely but this gets pretty angsty right off the bat. I don't have it planned out so I don't know what triggers may come up so that's also a reason I'm not making a list. But BE CAREFUL! BE SAFE! DON'T READ IF YOU MAY BE SENSITIVE TO TRIGGERING TOPICS!

Virgil is going to a summer camp, he's nervous and just doesn't really want to go, he would much rather prefer staying at home and watching conspiracy theories on youtube and listening to music all summer (mood). But his dad sends him to camp anyways. He gets put in the same cabin as Roman Prince, the hot-theater-Disney-geek of the camp, Logan Cogn, the smartest dude in probably the whole state, and Patton Patterson, the literal embodiment of sunshine. The boys have a secret. They were able to keep it a secret from everyone besides their families. That is, until their senior year... It started with the attacks. Virgil has the next couple years of his life planned out: he'll graduate from high school and study Graphic Design in college. His roommate will be his best friend, Roman. At the end of college, he'll move into an apartment, get a boyfriend and start his life. But as he gets caught up in how he really wouldn't mind that boyfriend to be Roman, his high school throws a three-day school trip at him and his friends. He gets placed in a cabin with not only Roman, but his two other friends Patton and Logan. The four of them are also in an activity group together, which means that the four of them will be around each other for most, if not all, of the 72-hour period. So, here Virgil is. Stuck far away from home in a cabin with his crush. For three. Whole. Days. Within the Shadows of the Soul, there is Beauty
I can feel my heart racing against my ribs as if it is about to tear itself out of my chest as I gaze into a pair of violet-silver eyes. They are locked onto my own with a predator's intensity. It takes every ounce of self-control I have to keep up this foolish staring contest, but I keep at it. I will not appear weak in my own court! The stranger does not blink but offers the tiniest of smirks, as if sensing my growing distress. I take in a deep breath and silently will some steel into my spine as I, at last, address him. "What is your name and what business do you have here?" The stranger grins and instead of bowing gives a mocking salute. His voice is soft and dark, carrying the promise of death, "I am, Lord Virgil and I have come on request of the king to help him against the growing threat." I swallow hard as he steps closer toward me, those uncanny eyes never leaving my face. "It would be wise if you stayed a safe distance away from me, Prince Roman.
