Completed. ☼ " Her denial, that was like a dam holding back a flood of feeling, of sweet relief for desperate soil, holding back a flood it stood no chance against, as yet another crack formed with a strong wave that already knew it had won. On the other side Marley stood, watching her dam's inevitable, impending destruction - fearing, knowing, that quenching her aching thirst would be synonymous with drowning, would be synonymous with coming up for air, would be synonymous with surrendering to a force of nature that was beautiful in all its calm, but terrifying in all its chaos. He absentmindedly tucked a loose flyaway behind her ear. Right then. Another crack in her last line of defence. Another rolling back of a wave, gaining strength, beating against the tired concrete. Another overflow rolling above the wall, droplets racing to sink into her every vulnerable place. Another enigma - still being afraid, while watching the water, and feeling the ache " ☼ Praise for 'Camp Where The Hell Are We?' "the fact that this book isn't just a book. it's a life lesson it teaches us the importance of friendship on how to be grateful that most of us live comfortable lives this book is such a masterpiece and deserves to be more recognized" - @voidtonkin "No book has changed or influenced me as much as this. Marley has inspired me to be more kind, forgiving and mature. Aiden has taught me to look for all the small things. Gabby showed me that real friendship is standing up for the other no matter what. Every book I read is a part of who I am, and this is one of the biggest parts. Thank you." - @ah-sh-ih-k-ah "I could feel every emotion, like I was standing right there, just on the outside looking in. The Runaway Roots: A Seabrook Story Comedy-Drama Novel) by Mzstillyourman
16 parts Ongoing Mature
The Weavers arrive in the postcard-perfect town of Seabrook, Maine, desperate to shed their nomadic, shadowed existence. For Elara, it's a chance to build a real home; for Ginny, it's a terrifying opportunity for normalcy she craves but fears she can't handle. Their attempts to assimilate are immediately complicated: Ginny clashes (and then sparks) with her charming neighbor Liam, while his twin sister Sadie adopts Ginny with the force of a hurricane, dragging her into a vibrant friend group. Meanwhile, Elara finds an unexpected connection with the steady, kind hardware store owner next door, David, but is also intrigued by the enigmatic writer, Julian, whose own past seems tantalizingly shrouded. When Martin discovers Ginny's hidden scars, he insists on therapy and enrolls her in a community poetry class. There, Ginny meets Finn, whose intense gaze and raw poetry resonate deeply with her own hidden pain. Suddenly, Ginny is navigating two compelling but very different romantic possibilities: sunny Liam and his stable world, or brooding Finn who understands her darkness. As Ginny grapples with therapy, first loves, intense friendships, and the pressure of fitting in, Elara juggles her own dual suitors while trying to keep her family's past buried. But Seabrook has eyes, and whispers start. Old anxieties resurface as mysterious events hint that their flight might not be over. Through chaotic town events, heartfelt (and hilarious) moments with Sadie's squad, intimate confessions, stolen kisses, and the cathartic power of poetry, both mother and daughter must confront their pasts, embrace vulnerability, and decide not just who to love, but what kind of life - and roots - they are truly brave enough to build.

"Wanted to be bold." I blush while I avoid eye contact. "Devin needed to borrow clothes for gym." I stare at my bare legs. "I should've told her no." He shrugs, biting into his sub. "Not a fan of exposing the body." I nibble on my burrito. "I just don't want anyone to get the wrong idea." I tuck my hair behind my ear. "That you're easy." My face reddens as I look at him in the corner of my eyes. After a few moments, I nod. He sighs. "The only thing that makes a girl easy is if she lets every and any guy inside." He runs his fingers through his hair. "Clothes or attitude has nothing to do with it." I trace a circle on my thigh. "And a guy that believes otherwise is either a dick or a rapist." I smile. "Avery." "Ava." "Your brain works in wonderful ways." I get more comfortable and lean on his shoulder. "So you've said." I giggle. "I'm glad to share the same name as you." ~ A girl, a perfectionist, named Avery Jones has been in love with her childhood friend's brother for as long as she can remember. He's never noticed her, though, he doesn't really notice anyone. He's sort of an insouciant philanderer. They couldn't be any different, the only thing that connects them is their names. Oh, by the way, his name is also Avery Jones; no relation. As crazy as it might sound, it's true. Anyway, it isn't until she becomes his mentor that he finally sees her. But will this new circumstance spark a connection or show just how different they are?
