In early 1936 (Fictional) Henry Caldwell came to grips with the greatest personal tradjedy of his life when his father was killed by a drunk driver! fast forward to the Fall of 1941 when he loses his mother and younger brother in a horrific house fire, it would seem that everyone close to Hank Caldwell is dying.  taking to the roads Hank finds himself running from the God that his parents tried to teach him about, he runs like Jonah only to find that his fate too is set in stone.  The Marines and WWII teach Hank a valuable lesson about becoming a responsible man, but soon he will find that what the war didn't do, his childhood nightmare come true may!
