Arizona Peplin's family is dead. Her kid sister, Allyssa, her father, Jack, and her mother, Bailey.
They died in a three-car pileup on their way to their new home, in a new town, with a new school. Now, not only is Arizona starting in a new school mid-year, but she's doing it completely alone. Her grandfather, who she hasn't seen since she was four years old, has taken her in, though he only has a few years left.
Not only is she antisocial by nature, but now, she's the center of attention at North Mackenzie High School. She has yet to come down from the emotional shock, and now she's without friends or family to support her in this unfortunate turn of events.
Arizona Peplin is slowly losing her mind.
