Aelise Suarez had a huge crush on the guitarist of the most famous boy band on campus-The Beast. Ever since she first saw him back in elementary school, she made a silent promise to herself: "This is the man I want to grow old with." The only problem? It was unrequited love. Why would someone like Kyle Damian Tuazon ever notice someone like her? He was confident, charming, and effortlessly talented-everything she wasn't. Clearly, his type was the beautiful, intelligent kind-not a clumsy, awkward girl who could barely look him in the eyes without stuttering. Still, Aelise was determined. She swore she would find a way to make KD Tuazon fall for her, no matter how impossible it seemed. And even though everyone on campus knew about her not-so-secret crush, she gathered all her courage and confessed to him during their JS Prom. She thought it would be a magical night-the highlight of her teenage life. But instead of getting the fairytale ending she hoped for, KD humiliated her. The night she had dreamed of for years turned into her worst nightmare. How could she make him fall for her when, from the very beginning, it was painfully obvious that he didn't like her back? How could she continue loving someone so cold-so distant, like Elsa from Frozen? After that humiliating night, Aelise decided to give up. She avoided KD for weeks, trying to convince herself that her feelings were nothing but a foolish fantasy. But then, out of nowhere-KD kissed her. A kiss she never saw coming. And in that single, fleeting moment, the spark she thought had long died suddenly came alive again. Was it possible that he felt something too? Clinging to that fragile hope, Aelise continued to chase after him-despite the mixed signals, despite the heartbreak, despite the constant confusion. Because sometimes, even when love hurts, it's the only thing you can't seem to let go of.
