Dominic Smith is just a kid trying to become a musician. But must people choose to refer to him as the dude who's a few apples short of a bushel. Or, from the nicer ones, just in a world of his own... There aren't many nice ones. Of course, they all believed they were in the right, solely because Dominic was different. But just because he's different doesn't mean he deserves any less. And soon enough, they'll learn that he may be even more different than they thought.
But, really, he's just Dominic R. Smith, a music teacher living in a cruddy apartment in South Yorkshire, England that knows how to play just about every guitar known to man (I'm not kidding-). And yeah, okay, he might be a little crazy too.
Makayla Munera... Just a rich basic white girl from New Jersey, America. Has lived with her parents all her life, is spoiled senseless, and is just trying to become a musician. No job from lack of need, no social life from lack of interest, and no experience in anything from lack of- well, the first two things.
But she's depressed. Her brother is gone, and no one else besides her best friend understands her love for music, or why she doesn't sell her electric guitar to buy a nice dress or something. She hates dresses. Nah, screw that. She hates anything remotely girly, but as a daughter of a very socially accepted family, she has to fit the bill...
But as fate (or plot) would have it, they both get an opportunity to claim their dream job. Given the same chance in completely different ways, they could land a record deal that could have them set for life. But there's a slight problem...
The record label only wants one deal. The question is... Who will make the cut, and who will go home?
