When Marina gets into trouble one too many times, Marina is sent to Texas to live with her father. Adapting to Texas might be hard because she hasn't seen or spoken to her father in over two years. Marina's dad has remarried to the woman who ruined her parents marriage when she was seven so this temporary installment to live with her father through senior year becomes more complicated by the minute. Especially when she learns that her father has had a baby with the woman she has come to despise. Feeling like a complete reject, Marina tries everything in her power she can to get her father to see that he has made a huge mistake by leaving his own family to start a new one. Marina meets a guy during her first day of school who happens to be on bad terms with Marina's father already. Marina finds this as an advantage and finds herself making up excuses just so she and this guy can hang out, mostly just to irk her dad but what she doesn't think about is that this guy might be impacting her life on a higher level than just getting back at her dad.
But this guy, Jonathan Stiller, isn't exactly the guy looking for games or commitment. So when he finds out that Marina has just been using him for some family problems he completely shuts her out and goes back to being his non-sociable self in terms as interacting with Marina.
Marina will have another thing coming if she thinks that senior year is going to be the best year of her life, with her mom giving up hope on her, her dad not seeing how much he has hurt her, her best friends becoming more distant, and the guy that has made her experience a whole new her, ignoring her, Marina might have to put her pride away for a while and explore the more fragile side of herself: caring. All Rights Reserved
