Deciding to move to a different state with her dad, Pyper expected something different. She wanted to experience the nice side of life again. Pyper wanted to forget about the memories that scarred her. The memories that kept her hidden, and scared. She viewed the world differently, this time in a positive way. All because of a boy named Jackson. Being with him made her learn a lot about the world, love, and most importantly to enjoy life. She realized that moving was not what she wanted, but with only two months to spare could she convince her father within that time? A short word, easy to spell, difficult to define, and impossible to live without. Love she realized, is truly important. That short word we know of called "love" could really change a person. It changed her, and her perspective on life. Love saved her.

Katiya Carpenter was born and raised in a perfectly small beach town. She spent her summers with the well-off "summer kids" and her best friends, she worked at the diner, and was top of her class. Life was good, until it wasn't. Eventually, Kate finds herself cheated on and unsure of her future. Until the Michaels move into town for the summer. And it might just happen that Jackson Michaels is exactly what she needs. ----------- I turned back to my friends, my eyes instantly running into Jack's. He was standing in front of the bleachers with Hendricks and a few other guys, talking to Genny. Jack was staring at me, as soon as I turned he flipped his head the other way. But it was too late. "Jack, right?" I said, smiling and getting his attention. "Yeah. You're Katiya, Kate." He gave me a dazzling smile. It made me smile back at him. "I mean, most people just pick one of the options, not both." He chuckled a little and took a step towards me. "Both is good. Who are you here to see?" He asked, looking around, and past me. "Nobody in particular." I seemed to say easily, even though I was in fact, here to watch Jason and my dad. "I mean, everyone. I know a lot of people. Small town." I tried to correct myself immediately, and I noticed Hannah holding back laughter as I stumbled on my words. "Gotcha." He said, still smiling wide and taking a glance back at the field. "Good to see you again, Katiya Kate." This time he said it as if it were one word. It made me smile on the inside. He turned and jogged back towards his team. I was such an idiot.
