Ezmerelda Lenz-Bachmeier is your not so average 17-year-old. Creator of the most complex scientific inventions, head of the school soccer team, and now finished high school. She plans to take a year off before entering University, which sets a lot of spare time in her hands. And it is immediately filled with the opportunity of a lifetime.

Ezmerelda is sent to Brazil to be the strategist of their national soccer team. Meeting big names like Neymar Jr. isn't that new to Ezmerelda, having Thomas Muller and James Rodriguez as close relatives. But she hears from many, from Ronaldo and Messi all the way to an evil Russian mafia. Yes, you heard me right.

Rumor has been going around saying an evil Russian group has secretly been taking out the world's best players and holding them hostage for an unknown reason. Rumors turn to reality when it is informed that Germany has not qualified for the 2018 World Cup. Much sooner than later, they will surely come to take out Brazil.

Having a retired CIA agent for a mom does have its downfalls. Ezmerelda does not have good memories with the Russian enemy. She thought that after her mother resigned from her position, Ezmerelda will never have to face their wrath again. But shadows only stay hidden for so long. Now, they plan to take out Ezmerelda for good...and her new friends in the process.

Will the world of football fall into the hands of the new evil Russian team? Does Ezmerelda have a chance against the cruel Russians? Is she ready for the betrayal and heartbreak she is about to face?
