Ivy Green is who you would call a person with an alter ego. At school she's the quite nerd that hides behind her glasses and over sized sweaters while at home, she rocks oversized t-shirts and shorts. Now that she's finally graduated high school, she's been accepted to Cornell University to study veterinary care. Cool, right? Not exactly, she doesn't have the money and she has one year to get it. Now pull in Lane Winthrop, son of Jordan Winthrop, owner of Winthrop Co., a multi-billion dollar business. This isn't your classic girl needs money and boy needs girlfriend, nope. This is boy needs entertainment and girl needs money. Ivy isn't competing alone either, add fourteen other girls. And this isn't a secret. No. It's going to be on national television. Whatever happens will be seen by millions of people, and nothing can be done. There will be cat fights and verbal abuse, and everyone in the nation will know about it. Ivy needs the money, Lane wants entertainment. Nothing can go wrong. #152 in Humor on December 8, 2014

"You're not a burden," he said. "OK," I said, again, trying to play it off like I didn't care. I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep up the façade. I could feel the tears banging against the barricade just behind my eyelids, the sobs clawing at the walls of my throat... they were demanding to be let out. "Don't shut me out," he begged in a desperate whisper. *** If only the guys in Ivy's life could be as in love with her as she is with them. Ever the tomboy to keep herself from getting hurt, Ivy knows it's safer to yearn from afar than it is to love up-close. What happens when a new guy shows up at her high school and starts to treat her as more than a friend? What happens when she goes off to college? Will she be liberated? Loved? Or is she condemned to a life on the sidelines, always the buddy, never THAT GIRL?
