A couple of things were buried on that beach that summer. Some things were tangible, some not. One thing's for sure: Maeve's life will never be the same. Seventeen-year-old Maeve could not stay in that town all summer, because everything reminded her of her mother. Myrtle Beach was only a few hours away, and it would give her the chance to be in a place where she wasn't forced to think about what happened. She could escape the noise, the apologies, the condolences... So, she packed up her things and took a bus to her grandma's house. She'd soon find out that Myrtle Beach would provide more than she expected.
