As part of an experiment, my friend Steve and I are writing a story in tandem. We don't know precisely where the story will take us because we each pick up where the other left off. It is exciting for us because we are both writing AND reading the story at the same time. Until we see Steve's second chapter, it's about a group of kids with a terrible secret and a long Summer to keep that secret. The only thing we can promise is that no character will suddenly wake up in a shower and reveal that everything which came before it was a dream. Beyond that the genre may change with each hand that crafts a chapter. If it seems to settle into a genre we will make the adjustment. To read the story, you can follow either myself or Steve as we pass it back and forth.

we both love the outsiders and johnnyboy so why not write oneshots about them?! the au we're going to mostly be using is that they're living in our time (still the same setting). here's some details about it: • ages: darry - 23, soda - 19, pony - 17, johnny - 16, dally - 20, steve - 20, two-bit - 21 and a half. (we upped everyone's ages by 3 except johnny, because we originally upped pony's by 3. so we made it fair) • dally lives alone with his two puppers :') their names are booper (a sheltie + corgi mix) and waffle (a dachshund)! (he's a college drop out, but has a paying job) • darry is a college graduate and has a job that he loves. soda, steve, and two bit are still in college and are living with their families. • pony and johnny are, of course, in high school. • everyone's families are the same. (except maybe the fact that their parents are willing to pay for school. idk if they don't in the book) • everyone's personalities are the same. Add getting caught making out with your friend on the couch, pranking the school, going back to the gang she grown up with, taking her goat to school multiple times and accidentally fall into a classroom after sneaking around in the ventilation system because drugging her old school seams fun. Yeah, being back won't be easy and she won't go unnoticed like she hoped. THE FIRST CHAPTERS MAY BE BORING AND BAD. I WROTE THEM A WHILE AGO, BUT ENJOY ANYWAYS.
