"You can't possibly treat me like this when I don't even know you" I say, meeting his gaze. "You're acting like a child." His hand suddenly moves behind my head, gripping a fistful of my loose hair. I squeeze my eyes shut, refusing to show the pain. "What did you just call me?" His voice is low, laced with warning. "Say it again. I dare you." I force my eyes open. "I said you're acting. Like. A. Child." My voice trembles as his grip tightens. His eyes darken, something more than anger flickering in them. He leans in, stopping just inches from my neck. My pulse races, my breath hitching as I hold his gaze. Then, after a long pause, he steps back. I wish you good health and happiness," while handing over his shopping." Status: Rapidly updating. God knows that I'll procrastinate and eventually forget that this book exists if I don't finish it in two weeks. Update: Took much longer than two weeks, but it is now complete.
