The sound in the arena faded out. All Tarot could hear was her breathing mingled with her opponents. He was shrouded in a shadowy cloak, but she felt that she could still see him somehow. Into his soul. They both spoke at once.

"Pas de la terre."

Not of the Earth.

"Des étoiles."

From the stars.

Angels.

Commanders.

Her mind felt on the verge of collapse. Sudden rage burned through her veins, making her body tremble and her skin flush. A tear ran down her face. She couldn't understand why; she couldn't care.

"You." Her voice was quiet, but she knew he could hear. She pointed a shaky finger at this stranger. "You will die by my hand."
~~~~~
For centuries, the people of Atlas have been waiting for the return of the Commanders: four Angels of the lost Aerial Race. Passing down a single consciousness for generations, they are the originators of Talent Energy, allowing a select few in Atlas to control one of four elements: water, fire, wind, earth.
Every two years, Herring City hosts the Grand Test of Talents, a competition to find the bravest and most skilled Talent Wielders in Atlas. It is designed to draw out possible Commanders.
Tarot, an orphan who received her name for her uncanny accuracy when reading tarot cards, is constantly surrounded by religious fanatics at the Herring City Circus. She has never placed much merit in the legend of the Commanders, chalking it up to an overblown religious fad.
Until she comes face-to-face with the only known Commander in existence: Prince Phoenyx of Atlas.
And she starts to remember things that happened lifetimes ago.
Another Commander has awoken in the midst of the politically charged Grand Test of Talents, where the best fighters have come to win a single gift from the Queen. Will the two join forces to protect their loved ones or continue a rivalry decreed a thousand years ago?
This world is set in the past. In a time where nothing was impossible, Where dragons fly above our heads. We learned to ride them, and become friends with them. We created artifacts that make our dragos small and then big again when we need them. That's what sets our world into two sides. A side where dragon riders lived and flew on them. And a side where they hated dragons, and the one that rode them. Even though we managed to work in peace, there was no war between us. Only fights that were under control and rules. In the Arena in the city called Aeloria. A city where there were both sides. They mostly ignored each other. But it was hard to get in this city. Mostly it was the people that lived there. And a few outsiders, but that was either the sellers, chosen group of warriors or dragon riders, and lastly the best fighters of the academies that went into the arena. To prove who is stronger and the winner will receive high quality weapons or any other things of their choice. One day the darkness came and war started. Not between us, but with a kingdom that was across the sea. And this battle or war changed everything we knew. I'm Ardyn, I'm on the side where we ride on dragons. And this story can be easy but also hard to understand. But I will still share it. But first we have to start from the beginning. What will this story bring? Will we be able to see the outcome? Let's wait and see. --------------------------------------------- "Get on!" Leora screams at Ardyn. Extending her hand for her to take. "No, I'm not getting there I hate ships." I shook my head and took a step back. Leora sighed and shook her head in mocked amusement. "Are you telling me you are able to fly on a dragon. But you are scared of standing on a ship. Don't make me laugh." "Yes. So what, I'm not getting on." I said angry and she grabbed my hand and pulled me up. Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?
For generations, the Dorothea family has borne what they call a "curse," though others whisper of it as a dark inheritance-a twisted irony for a name that means "Gift of God." This so-called gift was anything but divine. It was said that when the mother of a firstborn child perished, the curse passed to the child, marking them as its next vessel. On the night of the crimson moon, that child would be driven by forces beyond their control, becoming an unrelenting harbinger of death for those steeped in sin. The curse claimed Penelope Dorothea as an infant, sealing her fate before she even had a chance to live. To save her, she was spirited away to the neighboring country of Valort and taken in by the revered General of Sylvan, a man known for his unshakable honor and strength. But Penelope grew up with no memory of the family that had forsaken her, nor of the dark legacy that coursed through her veins. In Sylvan, she carved a life of her own, rising through the ranks to become the respected Captain of District 8. Along the way, she fell deeply in love with Blake Laurens, the General's son-a man who seemed to embody everything noble and good. But love is never simple, especially for one burdened with shadows. As Penelope's past begins to unravel, she discovers a truth far more chilling than the curse she thought she had escaped. Blake is not the man he seemed, and the ties that bind them may be far more dangerous than she could ever imagine. With each crimson moon, the curse stirs, and Penelope is forced to confront a dark prophecy that could either consume her...or reveal who she was always meant to be.
