Fresh off the boat from Solstheim, Skylar is wide-eyed and in Skyrim looking for adventure, fortune and answers. What Skylar didn't expect to find was her astonishing and terrifying destiny: she is the foretold Dovahkiin that must bring about the end of Alduin and save the world. Armed with her fiery temper and inability to give up, Skylar follows up on her destiny to become on of the greatest warriors this world has ever seen...while making a few enemies along the way.

This is the prequel to my very first Skyrim story, The Dragonborn Comes. This is Skylar's story while she was discovering herself as the Dragonborn!

Third story to "His Harbinger," sequel to "Something to Protect." Everything makes much more sense if you at least read "His Harbinger" first. Vilkas x Dragonborn (established) Farkas x Lydia (also established and a bit background) Based on my play through of the Dragonborn DLC with my Dragonborn Krinna Dovh, a female Nord. Krinna has visions and premonitions so there are some things she just knows (continuing a headcannon established in the first two books). Mostly told from Vilkas's perspective, with occasional snippets from the Dragonborn's perspective. Also explores aspects of married life; Vilkas being hot-tempered, but sweet and loyal. Story is set after the Companions quest line, the civil war, and the main story line is complete (events of "His Harbinger") and after the Dawnguard DLC (events of "Something to Protect") Also not entirely cannon compliant. And of course this is a fanfiction, the only thing unique to me is my specific characterization of the Dragonborn, everything else belongs to Bethesda, including portions of the dialogue. And lastly, marked mature for some strongly suggestive occasions (I won't write the details, but they're married), and occasional vulgar language.

She dealt with Daedric Princes-or rather, she was a pawn in their divine and intricate games. As she grew, she gained immense power, ruling over people and nations alike. Yet, throughout her life, she managed to hold on to her innocence and the child within. So this story, told and written by her own hand, may seem to you both naive and tender, despite the weighty themes it explores. I told her this might be the case, but she only smiled and replied, "Daddy, let things be as they are. That's the world as I saw and felt it; those are the places and times I lived in." "So be it," I sighed.

The type of work she does there lives up to her expectations enormously, but then she learns about a family secret...one that could threaten her position in Jorrvaskr and compromise the friendships she's made. *** The only characters I own in this story are Skylar and Marco.
