Bottled Butterflies

Maven and Dyne are teenage introverts that obsess over butterflies and social media respectively. The two boys are very close, but they don't know what to label their relationship as. If anything, they fear they might just be using each other to safely test out their own sexuality. As Maven's butterfly collection grows they begin to realize that they must grow as well. They are timid and somewhat reluctant to find out if their futures involve each other. They both cheat, cry, lie, yell, fight, curse, abuse, and dream, like any other teenager; however, they still feel alone. To combat their fear of eternal isolation they take solace with one another, mainly physically, but sometimes emotionally. They both care for each other and swear the other is all they need in the world. They've transformed their bedrooms, halls, and bodies into safe worlds that encourage their immediate happiness. Even so, they might subconsciously wish for the bravery to leave their mental prisons and see the real world.
