Rey Engel is a thirteen-year-old boy who is quiet and very much a nerd, but he's about to get three new step-siblings and a stepfather. You have Jackson Foster a 15-year-old boy who's a sophomore in High-school he loves hanging out with Rey and see's him as that cute little brother he's never had. Rylee Foster is 17 years old and a senior in high school; she loves Rey and finds him sweet and endearing. Finally, there's Josh Foster he's sixteen and very much your average trouble maker. Josh doesn't like Rey because he thinks he's an annoying little kid and makes sure to remind Rey of this every day. 

Rey's Mom and Dad divorced over a year ago, and it was hard for Rey. Rey has a close relationship with his Dad and feels as if he's betraying him by moving into a new family.
