Born as Madison Elisha, she grew up in Oakland and spent most of her life there in the town, suffering insomnia every night from the terrors in which she endured ever since she dreamed of being a journalist. Dreams can also be nightmares, her final night as a human and her final days in Oakland, she was going to finish the case until she found herself in the alleyways of Oakland. Until a dark figure, left her with an immense appetite for blood, leaving Oakland in fear of being found out she travels all around the world for 27 years. She lived as Selene Elisha, still solving cases and finding serial killers, she thought it was good that she trying to help make the world less dangerous.
Landing in Forks, Washington she thought she'd settle down somewhere in Washington especially when her past boyfriend, Ethan had forced her to leave Washington, DC.

Leaving her own mysteries behind in her articles, she wants to find out what happens in Forks and ends up meeting local Riley Biers who gives her information on the recent murders and mysteries. Becoming somewhat friends, she ends up finding the Cullen family interesting with how they appeared to be vampires with extraordinary powers, she hadn't had a case in months and they seemed to hold a lot of mysteries themselves.

She ends up pairing up with Emmett Cullen, the goofball and the strongest of the Cullen family, offering to help Selene with her cases as a way to get closer to his newfound mate. As the pair find themselves in many dangerous cases in which leaves Selene's love for her job on the stakes along with her identity.
