❝You can try as hard as you'd like, but you can't outrun the past.❞

For the past 19 years, Winona Ryder has kept a secret. In those same 19 years, David Harbour has changed into a father; a man he had never expected himself to become. In a new chapter of her life, Winona 'meets' the man who defies all of her expectations. Except, something about him seems all too familiar, but she just can't put her finger on it.

What she doesn't realize is that everything she had been running away from is standing right in front of her.

Noah Everlie Transit's world just got turned up side down, or maybe right side up when you really think about it. When the police show up at her door, claiming that the mother she had been told was dead her whole life, is alive and has custody, she's sent across the country to live with her. She doesn't want to leave her life behind though, and when she finds out a startling secret, she comes up with a plan to get sent back, except there's one problem. Ryder Fox, her cute next door neighbor who she might just want to stay for, with her best friend Kylie on the other side of the country waiting for her to come home, and secrets of her own. She just feels like no matter what she does, she's going to end up hurting someone, and when it turns out things might not be what she thought. Every thing gets so much harder to figure out, and she starts to wonder if she's gotten herself into a mess she might not be able to get out of. .... He smirks, "I told you it was" and I realize that I really like this side of him. Yesterday when we were playing games and the conversation would drift to family, he would tense up and change the subject, but right now, in this moment, He seems so carefree, not like a boy who's clearly getting over something in his past. He looks at me weirdly, but still smiling "what?" I shrug "nothing, I just like your smile" I tell him and then turn back to my food.
