The End of Days

A worldwide series of nuclear meltdowns known as The End of Days slowly makes the earth's surface uninhabitable. Two polar-opposite siblings, Marian and Kyle, choose a life over each other over a life underground with their parents, left with no choice but to survive.

Ghouls are humans living with a reaction to the radiation, adaptation. They have been separated from society out of fear and are typically hunted when surviving near an unwelcome community. Kyle and Marian nearly died seeking safety in a small, striving town as the weather turned, thinking someone who had evolved from radiation could finally hide.
