Shoot Me

The cold metal was pressed against my temple. A reminder that even the slightest attempt to escape and he'd pull the trigger.
"Back off! Now! Or else I shoot her!" His voice boomed to all the agents in the area. Kenzie looks at me wide eyed yet her gun stayed on target. She looks at me asking for permission to shoot. I give her a small jerk of my head indicating no.
"Why?" My voice is barely a whisper but I know that he heard.
"I'm under orders. You're the bad guy here." He said his voice hard but cracking at the end. I close my eyes as tears stream down my face.
"Then, shoot me." I whisper, my voice barely containing the heartbreak that I'm feeling all over again.
