Something's wrong. He's certain of that now. The photos, the dreams, and now this. It's too much to be a coincidence. Meribella knew that her life would never be normal. As her parents being Pepper Potts and Tony Stark, she was raised into a world with alien invasions and intelligent/killer robots, but also having to hope her father returned home safely after every battle. The only friends or family she has ever had has been SHIELD and the Avengers, because a gift such as herself must be protected, at all costs. Even if it meant that no one knew she existed. Tony Stark's daughter is lost in Gotham with no way of getting home and a certain Batfamily trying to adopt her. This was bad. Her thoughts were hard to make out with the pain in her head. The last thing she remembered clearly was the stage and then Harley and Peter trying to grab for her. Something had to happen in between then and now, that led her to being dropped on a rooftop. She padded her pockets down and cursed when she realized she didn't have her phone. Any chance of using the emergency credit card she kept slipped inside the case was lost with it. Only her Stark Watch remained, though severely cracked. When she touched its screen, nothing happened. She'd need to find another way to get in touch with her family. PTR Arachnid 24601, now known as Peter Parker, was stolen away from his parents at the young age of two. HYDRA kidnapped him, experimenting on him and turning him into an enhanced human assassin with abilities akin to a spider. Peter grew up surrounded by nothing but pressuring dim halls and voices tearing through his consciousness like bullets to his head. He never thought he'd get a chance at freedom. There was no he'd see the world outside of the missions that were mostly wiped from his memory. But when the base is under attack one day, he finds himself suddenly thrust into the real world, alongside the opportunity to reconnect with an old friend. Cover art does not belong to me. The Weight of Grief
It's almost funny. How grief sneaks up on you. One second, you're fine; you're coping well and then it hits you like a bullet, tearing right through your heart, almost killing you on the spot. Grief is a monster that lies dormant in the darkest quarters of your mind, growing stronger and stronger until you can't fight anymore. Until you can't breathe. Peter was fractured. The monster having grown too big, and without any support left to hold him up, the world of drugs dug its claws into him. And it was slowly killing him, like a sickly sweet poison that dulled the pain while quietly feeding on his soul. He was powerless to stop it. He was too tired to stop it. Tony was doing pretty good. Aside from having died, he was doing pretty good. Resurrected from the dead, check. Thanos dead, check. Wife and daughter thriving, check. He'd never expected to get his life back, that was for sure. He was thankful for the second chance. Unfortunately, Tony was quick to discover that the kid had all but lost his own life. It felt like a knife slowly twisting into his chest every time he saw the kid: in agony. Now Tony wasn't exactly the poster-child for a good emotional support figure, but he wasn't about to sit back and let this continue. No matter how hard the kid fought him, no matter how much resistance he was met with, Tony would help the kid. Still, he couldn't help the fear that laced his blood.
