I watch the numbers as they keep increasing, the brisk movement of the elevator causing my stomach to churn. Elevators in 2100 tend to do that to you. Small beads of moisture form on my forehead and I can feel the trickle of sweat begin to run down the sides of my face. I am unprepared for what I might face, the very thought of what could be at the top of the building makes me feel alive with the adrenaline of terror. The elevator stops, the doors open and I step out cautiously.
