Matthew Donarelli is a US Army Lieutenant in the 16th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division. Whilst he is training in England for the Invasion of France.
He unexpectedly meets a young Army nurse named Laura Campbell and begins to form a relationship with her. But around them, the war still needs to be fought. How does it fair in the most bloodiest war mankind has seen before them?

When the war finally ends in 1945, Aiko fears they will be separated forever, as Japanese nationals are either sent home or face persecution. Jimmy refuses to let that happen. Against all odds, he fights to ensure Aiko is granted safe passage to America, arguing her case to his superiors. After a long battle, he manages to bring her to the United States, where they finally marry-proof that love can flourish even in the darkest of times. Their love story, born in war, stands as a testament to the resilience of the human heart, proving that even in the face of destruction, love can endure.Complete

We met at the hospital, I was a nurse, he was a pilot. He was ordered to go off to duty anywhere in the world with a 50% chance of survival, whilst I was stuck in Hawaii as a nurse helping the critically injured. Can things really work out between 2 people who are what seems like 3 worlds apart? maybe not, but I have to try, even if it could end in heartbreak. Enjoy.
