It's 2009. You wouldn't call the Sobleskis a family. There's Shaun Sobleski, a proud single father of his children, trying to stop all fights before they start, which causes him to turn right back to his old alcoholism. Beverly Sobleski, his eldest, home for a week from her brand new career as a professor at the University of Massachusetts, definitely does not want to be stuck with her family in a cramped cottage in the middle of nowhere. Harriet Sobleski, the middle child, just out of a breakup, would rather be alone with her cigs than with her crazy family. Juniper Sobleski, the youngest, is too grownup for her age, wishes she had the same mother as her sisters, and would really like to jump into her books to escape reality. There's Janice and Drew Cruz, both ex-spouses of Shaun, now married, who wish they hadn't had to leave their seven-year-old son at home but are hoping that by going on vacation with the Sobleskis they will be able to restore the family that they feel they have always deserved. Janice would like to reunite with her daughters, Bev and Harrie, but they really don't want anything to do with her. Drew wants to connect with the two, who want even less to do with their mom's new husband and the man that cheated on their father. Finally, there's Juniper's mother and Shaun's one-time girlfriend, Trixie, who just wants to get closer to her daughter while still maintaining her model status. Shaun invites them all on a whim to a small beach town called Stine. Add in a whispered curse from a psychic and Sam, a hot lifeguard and Shaun's new obsession, and you get a recipe for disaster that definitely will not end well. It's 2019. Stine is abandoned. What really happened to the disjointed family in 2009? The story is there; you just have to be ready to listen. Any relation to true events is purely coincidental.
