A fanfiction of Rain World, a game by Video Cult.
It's funny how nature adapts even when the world has tilted to its limit. The way entire societies crumble to nothing, and yet, time still turns like nothing happened. The fallen are buried under a sea of darkness, and at its surface, a new seed sprouts.
But the fallen are still remembered. They leave behind their old shadows, their offspring, and the consequences of their decisions. Among the messy tangle of nature's regrowth sits a multitude of offspring and consequences, abandoned and left to their own devices. A young, orange slugcat, born in an artificial womb. A lonely traveler, in search of revenge and peace of mind. A small beast, in search of a true destiny. How will they shape their new world, and how many solutions does it take to fix one big problem?

Rain was a beast who desired independence and strength. She was loathe to be pushed around and demanded respect from others. She may be unique, but she will not let others treat her as a fragile treasure. If others reject her ways, then she will reject them. This is a fanfiction to the manhua, 'Beauty and the Beasts' and its webnovel, 'Leisurely Beast World: Plant Some fields, Have Some Cubs' by White-Headed Dream (白头梦). There will be a few major and minor changes compared to the original work, but all credit for characters from the original story and world building goes to the original author. The story is set a little less than 20 years after the original plot and operates under a specific scenario: What if Bai QingQing returns to her world a few months after her first leopard cubs are born? What if her snakelings were not all male? Follow Bai Qingqings's eldest daughter on a journey of self identity. Warning: Some level of violence is present in this story. A story where a PACIFIST of all slugcats ends up in the decaying, rot filled wasteland known as 'Rain World'. Your frail frame and sickly nature will do you no good here, and your vow of peace is nothing but a detriment to you. Sick, starving and having a broken leg isn't the best case scenario in such a place, but when you see that tell-tale sign of another slugcat. A faint hope blossoms. Or A Pacifist (You) ends up in Rain Word and finds Artificer. Notes: You go by They/Them, so everyone can suffer while reading my story equally. Artificer is female in this fanfic. I'm sorry male Arti fans. Swear warning: The Artificer is not known to be very kind with words. Suicidal Ideation: This will also be present, incase you have trouble with this topic, it may be best you refrain from reading this. Blood and Violence: This book will not shy away from depictions of blood, due to me being pretty new to this type of story, don't expect a full blown detailed depiction of every injury, wound or malady that is present.
