"Now if you'll notice, I do try. Get out of the way, I'm back in line. No one will notice if I died... Maybe you'll live for me sometimes, Adeline..." ~~~~~~~~~~ Adeline was only four years old when she was left behind by her parents during the Great Fires of 2012. She would have died if it wasn't for two very kind young men, brothers, noticing the crying, exhausted little girl standing in the middle of the roads surrounded by rubble from burning buildings and deciding to save her life by carrying her away from the fire. These guys would soon grow up to be two out of four of the Fabulous Killjoys, Kobra Kid and Party Poison. Who would Adeline grow up to be? Now, in 2021 at thirteen years old, Adeline lives a sad, boring life alone in a little hut in the desert. The brothers who saved her life hadn't seen Adeline for nine years, since rescuing her, and vice versa. Until one day, they reunite, now with Fun Ghoul and Jet Star on their side. Many disturbing things about her parents are revealed throughout, some surprising and some not-so-surprising which were in front of her face the whole time. ~~~~~~~~~~ DISCLAIMER: This fic has no connection in plot to any of my other Killjoy/Danger Days fics, and all the rights to the Fabulous Killjoys characters belong to Gerard Way, My Chemical Romance, and The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys comic book. ~~~~~~~~~~ TRIGGER WARNING: deals with the sensitive subjects of self-harm, suicide, depression, sexual assault, physical and emotional abuse. Violence - an unjust or unwarranted exertion of force or power, as against rights or laws; rough or immoderate vehemence, as of feeling or language. Almost an entire year has passed since Paranoia Violence slipped into her coma after defeating Better Living Industries. When she finally wakes up, she's alone and covered with a blanket that still smells like a certain red-haired man. And she's alone, left to wander the Zones while every other Killjoy has relocated to Battery City. Despite all the warnings she's received in various notes, Paranoia wastes no time heading after her boys. But once there, she discovers that things are not the way they used to be, and all she has now are questions: Where is Party? Why do the other three seem so angry with him? Who is Harley Rose? And what's the matter with Kobra? Secrets begin to come unraveled, and everything gets shot to hell. Rehab centers, karate lessons, and prison sentences aside, something's up, and Paranoia is ready to let her fists fly to solve all her problems. You've seen the paranoia. Now here comes the violence.
