It was when she had finally stood herself up that a beckoning light shone far ahead. It didn't illuminate the space around it like it should have, she noticed. Like there was nothing to illuminate at all, like this like was all there was and would ever be. Dumbstruck, she stepped closer to it. Usually you're told never to walk into the light, but where else is there to go? As she crept forward, she could feel the soft, muted shapes of something in the dark around her, nudging her along, but it didn't feel wrong. There was no malicious intent, no harm. This felt right. She was doing the right thing. The only thing that she could do, the only thing that anyone could ask of her. A sense of peace washed over her. Nothing bad could come of this, she knew it. She could feel it.
