"Why are you just standing there?" she asked in a condescending tone.
I looked at her face, trying to decipher the emotions behind her expression. There was no sadness, but something else that I couldn't quite pinpoint. "Is everything alright? Your marriage ended with your lover and began with me," I asked, hoping for some clarity.
"Do you want me to cry?" she asked, nonchalantly settling herself on the bed.
"No, not at all," I replied, smiling at her.
Her next words caught me off guard and sent a wave of unease through me. "Take off your clothes," she said, a smirk playing on her lips.
"What? I don't understand," I stammered, unsure if I had heard her correctly.
