If following the volume of her beating heart was all it took to find her and get her out of the god awful living situation she was in, why didn't he come and get her sooner? Aphmau was a werewolf who drew the short stick in life. Her parents had tragically passed away and from then on, she was stuck living with the current leader of the Pheonix pack, Balto. Nobody could've guessed how he treated her, given the fact that they put out their most unrealistic, happy selfs. If she planned to survive any longer, she'd have to put herself to the test to escape, so that's what she did. With a herd of her own pack members sent to catch her the day after she broke free, she had no choice but to run to another packs territory.
