Shay is a 16 year old boy, social issues. Not really much of a normal person in anyone's eyes. Some may call him freak, idiot even go as far as fag. He'd come to school everyday, prepared for class. Did homework, helped around with disabled kids. He was still picked on. His favorite time of the year was Halloween-when the festival came. Also known as, 'Bright Skies'. Every year he'd wait until this moment. Wait until that familiar truck pulled into the school football stadium. Small printed words that meant nothing to nobody else, small words with little meanings. People were wrong, words had large meanings. They could change a person's moods just as quickly as death. But, this year he wasn't going. No, he couldn't. He'd always go with someone-his dog Buddy. A four year old German husky mix, one eye was as dark as night. While the other was pure as the ocean. When his best friend forces him to go he couldn't have thanked her more. Only one problem: his mother.
