Alani Viribus lives in the middle of the forest with her Grandmother Anne. Every five years, when the moon is just right, Anne tells Alani to go to the town and bring back a human for her grandmother. Alani doesn't know why but out of fear of her grandmother she doesn't question it. This started when Alani was only eight and her sister, Charlotte, was fourteen. Now when Alani is eighteen and with her sister gone she has to take the journey by herself where she meets Carmen Laurent, a cute mysterious boy with green eyes. Will Alani bring the boy to her strange grandmother or will she let her heart get in the way?
