Ever since Shai Foley drowned last summer, she's been able to see the dead people with the pale skin and blue lips. One of them saved her, and now she's drawn to them.
Recently orphaned and searching for answers, Shai returns to the lake where she drowned and her occurrences with the dead began. She yearns to know why she can see them when no one else can, and she wants to learn more about the boy who saved her.
Then she meets Criss Reed, a mysterious boy with bright green eyes and a secret. He can see the dead, too. Shai is unable to keep herself away from Criss and the danger that surrounds him, which leads her tumbling headfirst into a complicated web of death, danger, and secrets.
Shai will go to any length to unearth the secrets behind the dead, but when she finds herself face to face with death, she may just go too far.
