Kylie Carter (18), a nerdy, senior high school student and slightly shy teenager gets pulled along by her mother, Mrs Carter to the birthday party of an old family friend, Mrs Jones. At the birthday party, Kylie meets Ashton Jones (21), a handsome, fun loving, university medical student, who is the son of Mrs Jones. After meeting Ashton, and telling him she has trouble with biology as a school subject, he offers to help her prepare for her upcoming, end of the year biology test, which Kylie agrees to.
On the day of their meeting, Ashton teaches Kylie about what she needs to know about biology and gives her a test afterwards. At the end of the session, Kylie gets a little nervous of her situation and gets quite tipsy on the champagne that Ashton brought. Then Ashton, who is a little tipsy himself and Kylie, end up having sex. To her shock, after a while, Kylie finds out she is pregnant.
Kylie decides to tell her best friend and Ashton's baby sister, Katie Jones (17), a nerdy, senior high school student as well. They both eventually agree that having the baby is a good option. The excitement and tenseness of the situation is short-lived after Kylie gets diagnosed with a unique immune disorder which will make it impossible for her to have her baby. Ashton then searches the internet for possible solutions, and after searching for months he eventually finds what he thinks is the solution. What he finds, is an English medical doctor, who is willing to do a new experimental medical procedure in which he could help Ashton to ultimately, carry, and conceive Kylie's extreme premature baby. Going through surgery will come at huge cost, though, for Ashton and Kylie. Will Katie's baby girl, and now, love of her life Ashton, live to see another day, or will they breathe their last breath in the surgery room?

Briar Black is not a good person, which has never bothered him, or anyone in 2399, at all. Until the government releases something huge:
Planet B. A second chance. And all 10 billion people want it, but only 3 billion can go.
So, the 2632 Exam: a year long test to see who deserves that second chance, and who does not. Briar thinks his shot is out the window, but when Theodore Maize-AKA a saint, AKA a definite candidate for Planet B-enters, Briar has a plan:
Befriend Theo, get his spot, and say goodbye to his life on Earth for good.
The plan comes with more than just meeting Theo, but meeting his world, and where it collides with Briar's: the ruthless reality of the rich, the pitying reality of the poor, the state of his dying world, the time ticking on all their fates, the mind of a bad person, the heart of a good person, and the rocky roads everyone takes to get there.
One shot, one guy, one year, two planets.
How hard could it be?
