Humans were not always sinful but there is always someone who displays a negative emotion that can result in catastrophe.
Hera was the goddess of marriage but, she was often mistaken as the goddess of jealousy, after eons of cheating and being considered as a woman whose wrath is unimaginable she finally had enough.
