Trapped. Shattered. Broken. These are the words that describe Vanessa Cooper's life. The cracked pieces of her memories are needed to be fixed, little by little. With the right person, Vanessa could be whole again, but depending on the people she intends to get closer with, will she finally be fixed or broken, permanently? ********** "Wait!" he called out, grabbing my wrist. I could hear the slight desperateness at the edge of that word. I hesitated for a second, but remembered what he had done. He had been the one to cause all of this. I ripped my hand away from him and walked even faster now. He followed, but I stopped him. "Don't," I warned. "I just-I need to be alone right now," I said. "Vanessa, I-" "Please," I whimpered softly, my anger simmering down. The plead of my voice finally got to him, and he nodded. Silence. I turned to walk away, and his footsteps getting softer and softer told me he was walking in the opposite direction. He didn't look back.

And a secret that refuses to remain buried." Alia was only fifteen when her world fell apart, once again. Years after enduring a trauma no child should ever have to face, she is thrust into an unfamiliar life, far from everything she once knew. Her mother has remarried, found happiness, and embraced a new beginning. But for Alia, healing is not as simple as turning a page. Now living in a grand house with seven stepbrothers who are little more than strangers, Alia carries scars that cannot be seen and memories she cannot bring herself to share. Beneath her quiet exterior lies a pain far too heavy for someone her age , a past she has spent years trying to outrun. They call her family. They tell her she is safe. But Alia has learned that safety can be fragile, and trust is not easily given by those who have been hurt before. As buried secrets begin to resurface and old wounds threaten to reopen, Alia finds herself standing at a crossroads between fear and hope, silence and truth. Will this newfound family become the refuge she never believed she deserved, or will the shadows of her past follow her into the only place she has left to call home?
