Ryne is a stone that gives humans the ability to use magic. While there are many different uses, everyone who has this stone also have another form. Their spirit animal. And with Ryne, they can switch between this form and their human form. Most accessories and clothes have Ryne embedded in them so accessing this form is a breeze. Without Ryne, it's almost impossible to use magic.

Kona Runes and Skylar Fawns are cousins. Even if everything about them seems normal, they can use magic without Ryne. A trait that is so rare, that the government wants to capture those with it. And their intentions are far from good.
