Cancer is like love, and I say FUCK Cancer. Toni is almost an adult, and she has just lost both parents to a fatal car crash. During the crash she hit her head hard enough to wake the dormant cancerous tumor in her brain, and she is now a bald 17 year old girl doing chemotherapy every week.Toni's only friend is Asphodel, who's mom died almost 6 years ago from TLC (Terminal Lung Cancer) and she has had an extreme eating disorder for the past few months. They live together under the roof of Asp's father, Dave, and his new partner Dean.

They are happy with their life and soon they have a son. They name him Hot shot. They love Hot shot very much. Hot shot is growing into a very happy and active child. He loves to run, jump, climb and play. He is now five years old. Hot shot soon begins to feel unwell in May. Hot shot is wondering why he is feeling so bad. He has a headache that won't go away, he is vomiting, he is tired, and he is cranky. He is feeling so bad one night his parents rush him to the ER of Cook Children's hospital. There Hot shot is admitted for being sick and was in a lot of pain. A hospitalist who is caring for Hot shot is worried and decides a scan is needed. The next morning she sends Hot shot to get an MRI. Then Hot shot is discovered to have a brain tumor. The brain tumor gets a biopsy sample. Then Hot shot is diagnosed with Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor or ATRT a type of brain cancer. Hot shot is ready to be brave and fight his cancer. He makes friends with seven other kids in the hospital with the same type of cancer. They become the best of friends and decide to fight their cancer together.
