"Why are we running, and why did we leave Adi behind?" I asked as we continue forward, through the forest and the dark trees. I had no idea what was going on, one minute I was having a friendly conversation and the next I'm sprinting like a demon's on my heels. "Nik, what is going on? Also, where in the world is Malik?" "No time to explain, we just have to keep moving," Nik replied, out of breath "I'm sorry this is happening, but we didn't think he'd make a move, not with Hornwell keeping such a close eye on him." I was beginning to think he really had gone mad, so I squirmed my hand out of his grip and stopped. "I'm so sick and tired of this! I know that you and Malik are keeping something from me," I said to him, incredibly frustrated, "I know that it's been happening for a while and I hate being kept in the dark all the time. I want you to tell me what's going on and I'm not moving from this spot until you do." He sighed and turned to face me, "I really want to tell you, believe me, I do, but we can't do it here. If we don't keep moving then it's going to-" The snapping of a twig interrupts and we both go still as stone, not knowing what to do. Nik started to move forward, ever so careful not to make sound, and he almost reached me before someone beats him to it and grabbed me from behind. __________________________________________________________________________ To give a bit more information the story is basically about supernatural myths and monsters. And how it all connects back to the main character Amara. I don't want to give too much away but if anyone has a question I'm happy to answer it. This is just something that I made in my free time, and I hope that anyone who comes across it enjoys! I've never published anything I've written and I'm always open to comments and feedback to help me improve :) The cover is done by @AJBrake please check her out if you're starting out on Wattpad and need a cover design
