Time Can't Heal This
I've always hated the saying "Time heals all wounds." Maybe in most cases that may be true. In my experience with life and pain however, time has only ever bled out the wound. The scars that the wounds left behind though, are often so deep that just looking at them becomes painful to the mind. Time only heals what you let go of. Sometimes letting go and moving on just doesn't feel possible; no matter how much time you let pass you by. These poems signify what time hasn't healed for me.Concluida

"Roses are red , violets are blue ...only if love was true .. !" These are the words she will often write down in her diary pages after pages. Book is completed! ✅ * January 2, 2020: placed third in romance category for the Duck Awards! The crash that broke through the last of her desperate hopelessness, was merciful, or so they said. Merciful, indeed. Merciful, for now she knew how cruel that promise had been. How had she managed to hold onto those words, as the world around her fell to ash? He hadn't remembered her at all, and she doubted he dwelled on the indefinite promise he'd made her. He hadn't remained the same, that she knew. He had risen to the top, left her to watch from far below as he became the star he had always dreamed of being. To believe he would return for her just because he had said so was ludicrous. Yet, if by some twist of fate, he did come back? "I'll come back for you," he'd said. As we go through life, we meet people who leave pieces of themselves within us. They touch our hearts in ways we never expect, changing us little by little until we become someone different. Their footprints stay with us, reminding us that no matter how much we want to, we can never go back to the person we used to be. And then, there was him. We found each other at exactly the right time, as if our paths had always been meant to cross. Loving him came naturally, and in his arms, I found a place that finally felt like home. For a while, everything made sense. It felt like the universe had written our story long before we ever met. But even the most beautiful stories can fall apart. Without warning, the life we built together slowly slipped through our fingers. The dreams we held onto, the love we shared, and the future we imagined became fragile, breaking apart piece by piece until all that remained were memories. He was the one who taught me how to love. But standing here in the silence he left behind, I realized he had forgotten to teach me the hardest part...how to let him go. Some days, the weight of missing him is almost too much to bear. Still, I'd choose this pain over never having loved him at all, because every ache is proof that what we had was real.
