The Rise of the Stag

A Stannis Baratheon fanfiction, beginning with the battle of ice.

The war of the five kings is over. King Tommen sits the Iron Throne, yet Aegon Targaryen has just taken the Stormlands, and now prepares for a march on King's Landing. Across the narrow sea, the battle for Merreen has begun, and Daenerys Targaryen now fights to keep all that she has taken, though if the battle is won in her favor, it will not take long before she sails to Westeros, for another Dance of Dragons.

At the Wall, Jon Snow has been murdered by his fellow black brothers out of fear that he may break the Night's Watch neutrality and give the Boltons a Casus Beli to retaliate and potentially wipe them out, however, through the actions which ultimately lead to the boy commander's death, the One True King of Westeros, Stannis Baratheon has been given the tools he needs to win back the North.

Now Armed with both the Northern Clans and the support of the Iron Bank, Stannis Prepares his siege of Winterfell, yet a battle still awaits him at his camp at Crofter's Village, a seemingly insignificant battle that may yet decide the fate of Westeros and allow the Stage to rise once more.
