Until April, I knew next to nothing about Castlevania. The games had slipped past my radar, so nostalgia didn't draw me to the animated series. But while preparing to write the fifth book in my series, I realized my readers would meet a rather influential vampire. For a girl who writes epic fantasy, I knew little about vampires, and thought I'd go the "easy" route and start my research by binge watching Castlevania.

I had NO idea what I was getting myself into.

If you've read my work, you have a pretty good idea what stories I like, and it's fair to say Castlevania fits that mold. And I'm not going to lie... the last scene of season two wrecked me in the best way. So, in a bout of concern for a character I'd only just met, I was struck with the overwhelming urge to "fix things," and unintentionally invited a vampire through my creativity threshold where he chattered about all sorts of things I hadn't expected to hear. And I ran with it. In two days, I had the plot for what is the first fan fiction I've taken on in over a decade... and I'm okay with it.

My Castlevania knowledge is currently limited to the animated series and about 98% of Symphony of the Night, but I've got a great team of beta readers watching my back so I can deliver the most accurate story possible. That said, I'm taking a few liberties with this tale, most notably the time frame. I write epic fantasy. Technology sort of scares me. The characters are stuck in the Middle Ages, and that's just how it is.

Last, but possibly the most important thing for me to publicly announce:

DISCLAIMER: I own no part of Castlevania (characters, world, lore, and all else affiliated with it) nor any works supporting the franchise. I'm even reluctant to claim ownership over the non-canon Belmonts who appear in this story. This is a work of my imagination, based on run-away head-canon, and is intended solely for entertainment purposes outside the official storyline(s) within the franchise, and without profit to me.

What if our knight in shining Armani fell for a plebe? The last thing Ella Vazquez wanted when she pursued a career in journalism was to be one of those writers churning out crappy Lifestyle articles about the lives of the socially elite. But this is the real world and sometime the last things we wanted lead us... maybe... to the things we really need. Set a few years after the show's finale, mostly in-keeping with canon.* Disclaimer: I don't own the characters of Gossip Girl! I also make reference to a few real life people/ other fictional works and I don't own them either. I would also like to credit Dr Holland over on Fanfiction.net, because her Clair de Lune series is what inspired me to finish this story. The cover photo is from the following link: simplicity&sincerity on tumblr. *I tried a writing style that I haven't seen used in a lot of fanfiction. Usually, you get first person (writing from the main character's perspective, e.g. "I walked my dog...") Or you get third person limited (there's a narrator but the perspective is limited to a specific character for the entire story or chapter). My last story, Bartender in Charming was in third person limited, for example, with some sections in first person because I was awful about consistency. This story is written in third person omniscient, which basically means I'm going to be jumping around between characters perspectives at will and without labeling. If at any point it becomes unclear or hard to read, please leave me comments and I'll try to fix it!

- CONTENTS MATURE! 18+ scenes - Celeste believed nothing more than being a normal girl, in a normal street, in a normal world but nothing can just be normal? Right? Well this idea of a normal life, stops for Celeste and she goes back to her parents home town, where she is forced by law to a mating ball and is convinced she is something she is not.... But when she meets a blue eyed handsome man that is not who he seems, she is intrigued and is ready to explore. Follow Celeste on her journey to find out who she really is, discover the world she believes is insane and will these blue eyes help her? ------ "I effect you as much as you effect me and it pains me to see my mate with another" he whispers in my ear. I gulp deeply and I want to drop to my knees, to plead that my life is in his hands. Although I gulp and shake my head. "Fine, but I'll be there and I'll be watching!" He whispers in hush tones. I gulp and feel the pain again in my chest. His blue eyes come back to my own and I don't even give him a smirk. He lets go of my jaw and with in a flash I see him leave. The thought in my mind is that my mate is fucking hot and I don't know how long I can deny that for or deny the inseparable connection between us. ---- A/N Just a quick note to say that this book indeed does need heavy editing and as a Co-writer I find this story not in my favour. I know the main character Celeste may come across as mean and as a comment mentioned 'annoying' this book will go through editing. But I'd you choose to still read then fantastic! It's our first 'mate' and 'vampire' book so please be kind and all comments will be taken into consideration. Thank you L&R x

One of the most *frequently asked questions* I get from readers of my published novels: "Was Dear Martin the first book you ever wrote?" The answer is no. Dear Martin was the third. The second (at long last!) will be published in Spring 2022, but the first will never see the light of day... Or so I used to say. *Used to* because we are currently in the thick of a literal global pandemic. And we're bored. And trying to stay motivated/encouraged/hopeful, etc. etc. So here it is. Nic Stone's first EVER novel that wasn't supposed to see the light of day. Starting today, April 1st, 2020, I'll post a chapter a day for the next 50 days (you read that right; this joint is LONG) and will leave it up indefinitely. You will laugh--AT me, but also occasionally with me. You will roll your eyes. You will have moments when you wonder if *The Nic Stone* actually wrote this long and intensely tropey and cliche book. About a 16-year-old biracial girl who sometimes glows in the dark, and after the death of her mother, discovers not only some latent supernatural abilities, but a prophesied mission she'll need them for. It is not professionally edited and is likely full of typos (though this was like the twelfth draft). It hasn't been beta-read and probably has some problematic rep in it. But my hope is that by posting it as-is, someone out there who doesn't feel *good enough* will see THIS starting point of a #1 New York Times bestseller and will be encouraged to get the story nagging at them down on paper. Even if it's never "published," there's no telling where it could lead. I hope you enjoy (or at least get a good laugh). Thanks for reading! Nic Stone

Have you ever just look up to the sky and ask the Moon Goddess "Why?" I have. I do it every single night for the past four years. I don't know if I'll have a second chance mate. I doubt the Moon Goddess would bless me with one when I literally killed my own mate with my own two hands. Now, Dominic. Dom. He deserves one. His died the night of our Ball. He seen her from afar a few weeks back. Just for a second. We were in such a hurry in our Village that he never got the chance to talk to her. He never got the chance to know her. I however, was cursed with a mate that betrayed me before I even knew who she was. I never got the chance to know her either. Once I heard her talking about ending our family. The thought of a mate I had went out into the forest. My mother. My fathers. My brothers. My sisters. Harlee! Who could do harm to her? She's just sweet and innocent. She's my baby sister. I didn't care for her explanations. I cared and loved my family more. To Odin and I she was a trespasser. She was the enemy. So, I killed her before she could do harm to our people. To my family. To my friends. It was her or all of them. I picked them. I would rather have her blood on my hands than have the entire pack. The entire clan. My entire family's blood on my hands. So I killed her without a second glance. I killed her with no emotions. After that night. I changed and it wasn't for the best. I changed and became colder. If I get a second mate, if she blesses me, I will reject her. When "Mate" escaped my lips I nearly died. Fuck. Why did she have to show up now? Why couldn't I have been blessed being mateless. It would make everything so much easier. But than again nothing is easy in my life. Do I trust her or do I reject her? Will the past repeat itself? Or will this lilac haired cherry blossom eyed mate when over my icy cold heart?

Picture this: I wake up in the Twilight universe, vampires, wolf shifters, the whole shebang. But here's the kicker-I'm not some hero destined for greatness. Nah, I'm just here to sip my metaphorical iced tea, munch on some popcorn, kick back, relax, and watch the chaos unfold. Twilight's not really my scene, you know. It's not exactly the dream vacation destination, but hey, who am I to argue with destiny? So, while Edward and Bella navigate their tangled, toxic, crazy romance, I'm content to chill on the sidelines, soaking it all in like a seasoned drama critic. Because why bother getting involved when you can just watch the drama unfold from a safe distance, right? Little did I know, this world has plans for me too. Turns out, vampires got mates here-yeah, mates, like soulmate-style-but I'm too busy observing to notice the difference in the Cullen pairs' relationship. Talk about irony. And here's where it gets really interesting. While I'm busy watching them, someone's watching me. One of the side male characters has taken notice, and suddenly, my role as the passive observer might be coming to an end. Looks like I'm about to be thrust into the heart of the supernatural romance I never signed up for. So hold onto your hats, folks, 'cause this observer's stories are about to take a wild turn, and trust me, you won't want to miss it. DISCLAIMER: I don't own the characters of Twilight. Only the OC and the plot revision is my idea. The plot is different than canon and plenty of criticism to the movie will be involved. If you're fond of the canon then don't read. Also, I wrote this with the help of ChatGPT AI for the grammar corrections because I don't have a betareader.
