Six years after Allegaint, Tris Prior returns to Chicago to start a new life. The past six years has been living hell, going through simulation after simulation, and examined like a specimen by scientist David has secretly hired. Four years ago, Tris had escaped the prison once, going to Chicago to find her one and only, who have been grieving for her ever since she "died" in the Bureau, so that he can help her end this hell. But they failed, and in order to make sure that none of her friends were harmed, Tris strikes a bargain with David.
