Grim Reapers exist and Zachary Blacklox isn't happy about it. He is kidnapped by a scrawny gothic girl and a team of students from his school's elusive magnet program. With much disappointment in their overseers' recruitment choice, they inform Zachary that he has a job to do. 

Zachary soon finds himself in an embarrassing predicament with the Devil's gender-fluid son as he attempts to strongarm and flirt his way through navigating this new job. 

After a rocky adjustment period, Zachary is assigned a new case-- one that is too personal to his past life-- and things take a turn for the worst. One of his coworkers isn't who he says he is and a pact with the Devil could destroy the balance between Grim Reapers, Divine Merchants, and their human clients forever.
