The Fox Emissary

Some tell the old stories as truth, tales of fae creatures and magic that ran wild through the veins of the world before the war destroyed them, ancient threats of revenge promised against humanity. Some even say that the Fae are still alive; weakened, but waiting. Saullis Ranul, chief advisor to the Empress, has never believed in the curse that could supposedly undo the Sabbran Empire and its power, but when he is plagued by inexplicable visions of a strange man named Arremith, a man whose past should be impossible, Saullis is forced to confront the reality of his world and his place in it. The Empress' war with the tribes of the Go'adoni desert is building, but there is an older war at work, resurrecting itself from its forgotten history and threatening the order of Sabbra and the realm at large.

In the desert, the growing force of united tribes, led by a fearless warrior called the Bloodheart and aided by unexpected allies, prepares to strike, to end the slow, poisonous spread of Sabbra into their peoples' land.
